Sustainable growth starts with us

We make the natural nutrient medium on which healthy mushrooms grow. From agricultural waste flows, we produce high-quality grown substrate for growers throughout Europe.

Skilled, circular and with pride.

Who is Walkro?

Established in 1991 in Maasmechelen, Belgium, we have grown into a leading player in the mushroom sector. With more than 240 people active in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, we work on the basis of millions of kilos of mushrooms every day. Close to the farmer, close to the grower. Our process

At Walkro, we turn agricultural waste streams into high-quality substrate. Horse and poultry manure forms the basis for a natural nutrient medium used in mushroom cultivation. This is how we close the cycle and ensure growth, both for our customers and the environment.
